This site, magazine, actually began more than twenty years ago. There were many essays and opinion pieces that I and others have written. Most were about the issues of the day. But the day has changed. Our America struggles with its history, its daily life, and its future. Any student of history will soon learn that the writings of this nation guide it. Those writings appear in formal documents and protest signs. This site has no pretensions and just presents itself as a forum apart from the often chaotic profit and attention driven main and social media. America has always been an idea that was expressed in tumultuous times. This is one of those times. A rare and precious time when voices can shape a nation. This site is not about my voice, but about all the other voices in this United States. The power of the voice is in the listener. I hope we all listen. - Editor
